Head Chef / Cook – Thon Partner Hotel Selbusjøen, Norway

Thon Partner Hotel Selbusjøen is looking for a Head Chef / Cook in a full-time permanent position. This is an exciting opportunity to develop sustainable menus and work creatively together with a professional kitchen team.

The hotel is beautifully located by Lake Selbusjøen, only one hour from Trondheim and 30 minutes from Trondheim Airport Værnes.

Main responsibilities

  • Daily operation and strategic development of the kitchen
  • Menu and concept development with focus on sustainability
  • Recruitment and training of kitchen staff
  • Staff planning and scheduling
  • Quality assurance of production and service
  • Stock control, purchasing and budgeting
  • Planning of events together with conference department
  • Food safety (IK-mat) and internal control
  • Work to reduce food waste
  • Participation in daily kitchen production

Requirements

  • Professional certificate and experience from similar positions
  • Good knowledge of food safety routines (IK-mat)
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team
  • Result-oriented and flexible approach
  • Good communication skills in Norwegian or English
  • Enjoy presenting food to guests
